Management Team

James Poulsen

Mr. Poulsen is a Partner and the Chief Financial Officer at True North Companies where he is primarily responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with banks and other sources of debt capital as well as managing True North’s internal finances and the financial relationships with the Limited Partners. His other responsibilities include underwriting, capital structure evaluation, and financial modeling.

Prior to joining True North, Mr. Poulsen spent seven years as a credit officer with the Middle Market lending division of Bank of America, N.A. in Phoenix, Arizona. Along with signature authority, Mr. Poulsen was responsible for structuring, negotiating and closing credit related transactions in multiple industries including manufacturing, health care, technology and government. Other financial experience includes Banc One Capital Markets and Bank One, N.A.

Mr. Poulsen received his MBA with a focus in International Finance from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, Arizona and a Bachelor of Arts in Japanese from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
