Melissa Marchwick

Partner – Marketing & Brand Strategy

Melissa Marchwick is a Partner at True North, responsible for guiding portfolio companies in areas of strategic brand building and marketing execution. Melissa brings over 20 years of expertise in customer research, brand and marketing strategy, product development, creative development and public relations. She has a proven track record of building and running top-performing teams, achieving measurable results.

Prior to joining the True North team, Melissa was with Sittercity, a nationwide online child care service connecting families with high-quality caregivers with over 8M members. In her role as Executive Vice President of Brand Marketing, she was responsible for the organization’s strategic planning, brand building, marketing and web and mobile product development. She also led the creation of, Sittercity’s senior care offering, from conception to launch, managing the P&L through its acquisition by a strategic partner in 2013.

Preceding Sittercity, Melissa led the marketing team for Cold Stone Creamery, an international retail ice cream concept. During her tenure, she was responsible for all aspect of strategic marketing from brand management to creative services. She also established and led the product development team, overseeing all elements of the product lifecycle including R&D, positioning and evolution of all product lines.

Melissa was an early member of the Intrasight team, a cloud-computing based provider of data-driven, multichannel relationship marketing services founded by David Tedesco and Jeff Walters. She also spent several years as an advertising executive, focusing on brand building, marketing and media strategies for a host of premier tourism clients.

Melissa received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Richmond and a MBA in Marketing from Arizona State University. She is an avid runner, proud mom, novice artist and holds the patent for “ice cream and cake dessert” from her first product launch at Cold Stone Creamery.
